Our Philosophy
At Mayrx, your complete recovery is our objective. We advocate for a Harm Reduction approach for opioid addiction because we have witnessed the incredible changes that can take place with medication-assisted therapy. You deserve to have your life back and we can help you achieve that. To that end, we promise you a non-judgmental environment that will strive to understand your needs and support your recovery goals.
We recognize the importance of having a gold standard for the treatment of opioid addiction: Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex), and we are here to make sure you know how to make this treatment work for you. Mayrx offers wrap around services to ensure gold standard care is given to individuals in treatment.

I was raised in a rural County in the mountains of North Carolina by an addict and alcoholic. It was a struggle growing up. I wanted to become a nurse like my grandmother wanted me to so I became an EMT at 16, got my GED, and went to nursing school. I found that was not my calling. I began working with the rape crisis center in Johnson City TN. There I did the Rape kits and became an advocate. I loved working and helping people. I found that I loved working with people with addictions. I wanted to learn everything that I could about addiction, and I wanted to help my Mother the most. I went back to school and became a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. I had found my calling, my passion, my path that God had led me to. I wanted to change the world one person at a time. I wanted to instill hope in people that had none.
I have done many things in my career. I have started up programs, ran programs as the clinical director, and in other capacities. I developed a MAT program, the First in NC for the Jail system in Rutherford County with the help of community agencies. This program continues to thrive. I have worked with Legislatures to change or implement laws like the Stop Act. I have worked with the Governor on committees to help make changes to the Opioid epidemic.
I truly believe that I would work myself out of a job if I could stop addiction. I believe that it is not about the glass being ½ full or ½ empty, it's that we have a glass, and we can put anything we want into it; or not let anything in that is negative. Don't stop before the miracle happens.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family and all my fur babies.

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 40 years experience in Nursing. I began my career working in Emergency Rooms and Critical Care Units. After several years I obtained my Masters degree in Nursing and became a Clinical Research Coordinator, conducting clinical drug trials for 18 years. The research focus was on the development of new psychiatric medications. During those 18 years I obtained an advanced degree in clinical psychology. I then transitioned into Family Medicine, practicing both in the hospital and in a retail health clinic setting.
I became interested in Addiction Medicine several years ago and completed the training to become a Medication Assisted Treatment provider. I joined Mayrx at its inception in 2020 and have been providing MAT services both locally and in several states throughout the United States.
I enjoy the outdoors and living in the mountains of North Carolina has been a perfect choice for my husband and I. We enjoy hiking, weight lifting, antique hunting and long walks with our two Australian Shepherds.
